General Questions

What is KrypAzan?

KrypAzan is a premium, privacy-first Islamic companion app designed for offline-first performance. It offers accurate prayer times, a localized mosque finder, an offline Qibla compass, the full Quran, and elegant general utilities.

Is my location being tracked in the background?

Absolutely not. KrypAzan is built on a "Zero GPS Tracking" philosophy. You manually enter your city during onboarding, and all calculations are performed locally based on that selection. We never trace your coordinates in the background.

Do I need an account or login to use the app?

No. KrypAzan is 100% anonymous. There are no registrations, no passwords, and no cloud-connected user profiles. All settings, bookmarks, and Tasbeeh history are stored locally on your device.

Prayer Times & Alerts

How do the Smart Alerts work?

Smart Alerts notify you when a prayer time begins, or you can configure reminders before a prayer period ends or after it starts.

Configure these under Prayer Settings > Notifications in the mobile app.

Why are my prayer times slightly off?

Prayer times depend on the calculation method and the Asr school. Adjust Calculation Method, Asr Madhab, and Hijri offset in the app settings to match your local masjid.

My alerts are not firing on Android. What should I do?

Android battery saving can stop background local notifications. Disable Battery Optimization for KrypAzan or choose No Restrictions in system settings, and ensure Autostart is allowed where your device provides that option.

Qibla Compass

The Qibla compass is pointing in the wrong direction. How do I fix it?

The compass uses your device magnetometer. Metal objects, magnetic cases, or nearby electronics can interfere with the sensor. Move your phone in a "Figure-8" motion several times to calibrate it.

Quran & Tasbeeh

Is the Quran database fully offline?

Yes. The complete Quran Arabic text, translations, and English search indexes are pre-packaged into a local SQLite database inside the app bundle. No internet connection is needed to read or search.

How do I back up my settings, bookmarks, and Tasbeeh count?

Because KrypAzan does not use accounts, backups are local. Use Settings > Security & Backup > Export Backup to generate a JSON backup file, then restore it later with Import Backup.
