FAQ

Answers to common questions about KrypAzan features, privacy, prayer-time settings, alerts, Qibla, Quran, and backups.

General & privacy

What is KrypAzan?

KrypAzan is an offline-first Islamic companion with prayer times, configurable reminders, Quran reading and search, Qibla assistance, mosque discovery, Tasbeeh, Zakat calculation, Duas, Kalimas, names, and educational insights.

Do I need an account or internet connection?

No account or login is required. Quran reading, Qibla calculations after a location is saved, bookmarks, Tasbeeh, bundled reference content, and many settings work offline. Internet is needed for actions such as refreshing prayer calendars, searching places or mosques, retrieving live market data, and opening online support pages.

Does KrypAzan track me in the background?

No unrelated continuous background GPS tracking is used. You can choose a city manually or request a current location for a location-based feature. A selected location may be saved locally, and coordinates or a search query are sent online only when needed for the result you requested.

Does “no account” mean no network information is processed?

Online requests still expose routine network information such as an IP address and request time to KrypAzan infrastructure and configured providers. These requests are not tied to a KrypAzan account because the app has no user accounts. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Prayer times & alerts

How do I configure prayer times for my area?

Open Settings > Prayer Settings to choose your location, calculation method, Asr school, and available adjustments. Use the Hijri offset only to align the displayed date with your local moon sighting. Compare important times with your local mosque.

What prayer notifications can I configure?

Under Prayer Settings > Notifications, supported options can include an alert at prayer start, a reminder after the start, and a warning before the current prayer period ends. Exact choices depend on the app version and platform.

Why did an Android prayer alert not fire?

Confirm notification permission, then check Android battery optimization, background restrictions, and any manufacturer-specific Autostart setting. Choose Unrestricted or the equivalent where appropriate. Notifications are helpful reminders but cannot be guaranteed by the app.

Why can calculated times differ from my local mosque?

Calculation method, Asr school, coordinates, elevation, safety adjustments, and local practice can all create differences. Use your mosque or an appropriate local authority as the final reference, especially for fasting boundaries.

Qibla compass

Why is the Qibla compass pointing incorrectly or not moving?

The compass needs a device magnetometer. Magnetic cases, metal objects, vehicles, and electronics can interfere. Move away from interference, keep the phone level, and calibrate it with a figure-eight motion. Some devices do not include a suitable sensor.

Does the compass need internet access?

Once a valid location is stored, the Qibla bearing is calculated locally. The compass itself does not need internet access, though obtaining or searching for a new location may.

Quran & voice search

Is the Quran available offline?

The bundled Quran database supports offline reading and search. Available translations, scripts, and search behavior depend on the installed app version.

How do I change the Arabic text presentation?

Open the reader settings from a Surah or Juz to use the available script and text-size choices. Changes are stored on your device.

How do bookmarks and reading position work?

Use the bookmark or favorite controls shown in the Quran screens. Bookmarks and supported reading-state information are stored locally and are not synchronized to a cloud account.

What happens when I use voice search?

KrypAzan asks for microphone and speech-recognition access only after you start voice input. Recognition is handled by your device's speech service and may be on-device or online depending on platform settings. Review the recognized text before searching.

Tasbeeh, backup & App Protection

Can I add my own Dhikr?

Open the Tasbeeh library and use the custom-Dhikr option to enter a phrase and target. Custom entries and counts are stored on your device.

How do I back up and restore local data?

Open Settings > Backup & Restore and export the available local data. Store the exported JSON safely. Import it through the restore option when needed. Krypzon does not keep a cloud copy and cannot recover a lost export.

How does App Protection work?

Enable it under Settings > Security. Your operating system verifies the device PIN, pattern, password, fingerprint, or face. KrypAzan receives only the success or failure result, not the biometric template or credential.

Zakat, mosques & Islamic tools

How does the Zakat calculator obtain prices?

When live prices are enabled, the app requests configured precious-metal and exchange-rate data. You can use custom prices when offline or when you prefer another source. Results are estimates; verify prices, nisab treatment, and personal circumstances with a qualified adviser.

How does Mosque Finder work?

When you request nearby mosques, the app obtains an on-demand location and sends the search area to a configured place provider. Results can be incomplete or outdated, so confirm the mosque and directions before travelling. Opening directions hands the destination to an external maps app.

What other reference tools are included?

Depending on the installed version, KrypAzan includes the 99 Names of Allah, names of the Prophet, Kalimas, daily Duas, and short insights about prayer, prophets, and the Hijri calendar.

Help, policies & troubleshooting

Where can I read the Privacy Policy and Terms?

Open Settings > Support & About > About KrypAzan. The About page provides the bundled Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, open-source licenses, and Krypzon product information.

How can I contact the KrypAzan team?

Open Settings > Support & About > Contact & Support, or email krypazanteam@gmail.com. Include the app version, device platform, and a description of the problem, but do not send private backup content unless necessary.

What should I try when online data will not load?

Check connectivity, retry the request, and confirm that your location or search text is valid. Some online features depend on upstream providers and may be temporarily unavailable. Offline Quran, local bookmarks, Tasbeeh, and bundled content should remain available.
